Community Panel on Diabetes and Kidney Disease

Join The Cincinnati (OH) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated for a timely discussion about health disparities in the Black community and the importance of building generational health.

The community is invited to this free event to learn more about the impacts of chronic kidney disease on patients, families and more with testimonials from former NFL Star Ickey Woods, Vestal Simms and Charles Farley – two kidney transplant recipients, Dr. Nita Walker, Dr. Nana-Hawa Yayah Jones, as well as Andrea Johnson from LifeCenter Organ Donor Network and Reneta Brooks of the National Kidney Foundation.

The first 150 attendees will receive a free Kroger Gift Card with a chance to win more prizes as well as receive vital information on how to detect, live with and care for a loved one with chronic kidney disease.

Participating Partners include LifeCenter Organ Donor Network, the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio, Guild and The Center for Closing the Health Gap.

2024 Greater Cincinnati Black Family Wellness Expo

Join The Cincinnati (OH) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated and The Queen City (OH) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated for a day of enrichment and education to support the health and wellness of the Black community at the 2024 Greater Cincinnati Black Family Wellness Expo from 10am - 3pm on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the University of Cincinnati Lindner College of Business.

This event supports a national campaign hosted by The Links, Incorporated that focuses on health and wellness for Black families.

The Greater Cincinnati Black Family Wellness Expo will feature interactive sessions that focus on 8 dimensions of wellness: Emotional, Occupational, Intellectual, Environmental, Financial, Physical, Social and Spiritual. Health screenings and voter registration will also be available in partnership with the Cincinnati NAACP.

Racial and ethnic minorities are more likely than the majority population to suffer from chronic diseases and illnesses. This event will provide the community with necessary health and wellness tools and resources to raise awareness and drive action for healthier outcomes in the community. 

This event is free and open to the public. Adults and children are encouraged to attend. Complimentary on-site parking is available.
